Editorial by The Haitian Pulse
The world is finally paying attention to a crisis we’ve been screaming about for years. Haiti, once again, stands on the edge of collapse — but this time, the stakes are more catastrophic than ever before.
Last week, a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers, including Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) and Congressman Rich McCormick (GA-07), sounded the alarm. In a joint letter addressed to Secretary of State Pete Rubio, they expressed grave concern about the worsening conditions in Haiti, where criminal gangs have seized control of over 85% of the capital, Port-au-Prince. These armed groups have looted hospitals, displaced over one million people, and disrupted humanitarian operations — including those protecting American missionaries and aid workers.
The lawmakers are right to speak out. But speaking out isn’t enough.
The United States must not only coordinate with the Haitian Transitional Presidential Council and the Haitian National Police — it must also lead a global effort to dismantle the criminal syndicates destabilizing the country. Every day that passes is another day Haiti slips further into chaos, and another generation risks growing up in despair.
A New Kind of Response — One That Includes Us
As the international community debates next steps, one thing is clear: Haitians, especially those of us in the diaspora, cannot afford to be left out of the conversation — again.
For too long, decisions about Haiti have been made in rooms where Haitian voices are absent. Policies are passed, aid is distributed, interventions are planned — all without the strategic input of the people whose lives hang in the balance. This must stop.
That’s why The Haitian Pulse was created — not just as a platform for news, but as a movement for global Haitian organization. It’s time for us to stop waiting for a seat at the table. We need to build our own table — and bring our power with us.
Real Unity. Real Strategy. Real Power.
We’re calling on every Haitian — whether you’re a professional, a candidate, an elected official, or simply someone who loves Haiti — to join us at www.thehaitianpulse.com. Our platform allows you to:
✔️ Connect with leaders and officials in your constituency ✔️ Stay informed with real-time updates about Haiti ✔️ Build coalitions and collaborate on solutions ✔️ Make your voice heard at every level — local, national, and global
This is not just another website. It’s a digital movement to transform our global disorganization into political influence, economic power, and cultural pride.
It costs nothing to join. But the impact could be everything.
If we want to influence foreign policy, end the violence, and help Haiti heal, we must first get organized.
We thank lawmakers like Congressman Lawler and Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who are using their platform to advocate for real action. But their fight must be our fight too — not just as spectators, but as strategists, collaborators, and leaders in our own right.
This is Haiti’s moment — and it’s ours, too.
Join The Haitian Pulse. Let’s rise, together.
